Enjoyable Exercise Ideas

Finding the time and the motivation to fit in exercise can be difficult. However, exercise doesn’t have to be hours spent on a treadmill- it can be an activity that you find fun and enjoyable!

We’ve compiled our favourite ways to move your body which- most importantly- you’ll love to do. Read on to see what these are!

  • Walking

This could be a walk through nature listening to your favourite music, or a local park before a lovely picnic lunch.

If you have errands to run or don’t live near a green space, why not take a stroll around your local shops or town centre- you’ll be surprised at how many steps you easily rack up doing this!

  • Stretching

There are plenty of YouTube videos and online resources you can use to find a simple stretching routine to follow. This bank of tools means you can choose how long you want this to be- whether that’s a quick 5 minutes in the morning or a longer session. You can also tailor this to a difficulty level best suited to you. It will leave you feeling fantastic and relaxed – plus over time you’ll see your agility and flexibility improve.

  • Gardening

Gardening is amazing for your mental and physical health. Being outdoors and getting in touch with nature is proven to boost your wellbeing and mood, and it’s super rewarding to see your efforts paying off. Plus, it’s a strenuous activity that incorporates both strength and cardio. What’s not to love?

  • Dancing

Stick on your favourite music for 10 minutes and just let yourself enjoy it. Exercise doesn’t have to be a formal thing you do- any way of moving your body counts. Or if you would prefer to take part in a class, why not try Zumba? It’s social, energetic and a fun way to burn those calories.

  • Yoga

If you practice mindfulness or want to move in a way that’s slower and more focused, we recommend yoga. It builds up your strength and will leave you feeling wonderfully relaxed and peaceful afterwards. Again, the internet has opened up a new world of online classes for you to take part in, or you can look for one in your local area.
