Protein Packed Snack Ideas

Protein is extremely beneficial for your bone health, muscle strength, metabolism, blood pressure, hair and skin, and immune system. However, many of us don’t get enough in our diets. If you’re looking to increase your intake and reap the many benefits it has, we’ve put together a list of our favourite protein packed snacks to help you achieve this!

  • Greek yogurt

Greek yogurt is an amazing source of protein, with 2 -3 times more than regular yogurt. Even a small pot can offer a significant protein kick: a 200g serving typically packs around 20g protein! To sweeten it up, add honey or fruit parfait. Granola is also great to add if you like a bit of texture on the side!

  • Protein bars

You can buy these from most supermarkets in a huge range of flavours, meaning you’re sure to find a variety you love. They are on the more expensive side compared to our other snack ideas, but they’re an easy way to boost your intake and convenient on the go.

  • Ham, cheese and crackers

Both ham and cheese provide you with a great hit of protein, and they’re fridge staples for many of us. Whilst crackers don’t pack much of a protein hit, they do make this snack more palatable and filling.

  • Protein Smoothie

Add a scoop of protein powder to your favourite smoothie recipe for a super hit of both vitamins and protein that will keep you going for hours.

  • Hard boiled eggs

Boiled eggs are a filling protein filled snack. Why not hard boil some and keep them in the fridge- this is certainly a healthier alternative to reaching into the biscuit tin when you fancy a snack!

  • Nuts and nut butters

Nuts and nut butters are one of our favourite protein packed snacks. They’re tasty and can be paired with fruit, crackers, yogurt, or placed on top of your morning porridge. Peanuts/ peanut butter and almonds/ almond butter are especially rich in protein.
